As of now i will be writing reports on the Grounds i visit. Over time i will briefly go over some of my past visits, during the summer months when i have nothing to write!!! I am a bit late writing this as it was two weeks ago but here goes anyway. After a season of following Torquay's first season in the Blue Square Premier and discovering the vast wonderment of the Non League Pyramid, i briefly dipped back into League Football and my local ground Fratton Park. After living in Plymouth and not even going to Home Park it would have been a disgrace not to get a Ground that is on my doorstep. With Portsmouth moving in a few years this was of course on my to do list. If you are going to do a Premier League game then do it in style i say, i plumped for Portsmouth v Chelsea. This was only my second Premier League game. My first back in early part of this decade for the very last game at Filbert Street for Leicester City v Tottenham Hostpur. My last visit to a ground in Pompey was at United Services Portsmouth and the limited crowd of 17 and i got blown away practically in a hurricane!! Now i am all for getting soaked at a Village Rec or low level game but for £34 i would expect a slight amount of comfort!!!!! But there was no chanve of that as there was a torrential rainstorm and i had to be near the end of a row didn't i. The rain came in and soaked me to the skin and i mean soaked. At least it was covered - it never used to be. Pompey played really well and had a lot of chances but just didn't put them away and were made to pay the price with a Didier Drogba winner. The stadium itself is too small for Premier League football (will they be in it next season?) Although there are three good stands there is one which in my mind was not up to standard. A brief dip back into League Football for me - give me Non League anyday!!! I didnt have a camera on me for this one so have used a pic courtesy of www.criteriondesign.co.uk. This was the 13th current 92 Club Ground for me. Never been higher than 16!
