A big gmae for both sides this one as both need tghe play offs. I was at Broadhall Way last season for the first time when we won 3-1 and it was a good day out. With the title out of contention for us this was a must win really. Had no contact with Samaritan so assumed he was not going, but i got a call from Rob asking if i wanted to go. With Bannister already going from Basingstoke it seemed it would be a good Hampshire Gulls turn out. In hindsight Samaritan WAS there and had forgotten to let me know he was going as he assumed i had said i was busy. Also there was the missing Hampshire gull, Dave Floyd aka southamptongull. He goes to most of the away games and is a moderator on Dotnet. So the only one not there was Nelson who was playing golf or something. Ollie 'Macfaro' Mcfarlane hasn't got in touch since Stevenage last season. Shame as he is in pompey too. Rob 'Rob' Hawes who i will call Hawes for good cos i prefer that. You know waht i am like withmy nicknames, picked me up around 11 and it was just me and him. A damn good trip up and got to the ground about 1pm. As we were driving we saw bannister walking awy from the ground and i shouted out to him. Sadly he said the club bar was not doing food so there was a Burger King nearby and we all went there. It was full of TUFC fans of course. It filled a gap and we made our way to the ground. I went in the club shop and of course got my pinbade whilst the others got the beers in. Was good to see 'Southampton' in there and Samaritan arrived quite quickly after. I had been there before of course and i thought it was a good little ground. An away seated stand behind one goal, seated grandstand to the left, terreacing to the right and another terrace which only went half way across on the far side. A funny happened when we readyfor the kick off. As the 4th Official checked the nets..."Lino, Give us a wave" rang out. He duly discretly waved his hand behind his back. Good Man!!! The game itself was 0-0, Stevenage had the first half, we were all over them second half. we had a man sent off and a goal disallowed. Got to give a mention to Samaritan who is now being classed as 'the greatest drummer we have ever had' on Dotnet he banged the drum non stop all of the 90 mins just like he did at Coventry. A good day out and not a bad result. A last min choice to go and very glad i did.
